Step into the intimate world of Rannaghor by Sienna, where Bengal's rich culinary heritage is explored through food, storytelling, seasonality, and contemporary culinary techniques. Located in Hindustan Park, Kolkata, Rannaghor is an exclusive 8-seat kitchen and chef's table designed to give diners a closer connection with the chefs and the stories behind every course.

The experience takes guests beyond familiar Bengali favourites and explores the diverse culinary landscapes of Bengal. The menu draws inspiration from regional ingredients, traditional food practices, farmers, local markets, and microregional cuisines, while also reflecting the cultural connections between West Bengal and Bangladesh—“epar” and “opar” Bangla.

At the chef's table, Avinandan Kundu and Koyel Roy Nandy lead an immersive dining experience where the chefs cook, plate, and explain the inspiration, ingredients, and stories behind the dishes. The current format is described as a 13-course tasting journey, bringing together familiar Bengali flavours in creative and contemporary forms.

Rather than simply serving a sequence of dishes, Rannaghor uses food as a way to explore memory, identity, community, culture, and belonging. Each course offers a different perspective on Bengal, including culinary traditions and ingredients that may be less familiar to diners.

The experience also pays close attention to presentation and craftsmanship. The intimate dining room features a minimalist design inspired by Bengal's landscape, while the crockery used for the tasting experience is crafted with Bengal clay through Sienna's pottery studio.

For food enthusiasts, the experience can be an opportunity to discover how traditional Bengali flavours can be reinterpreted through modern techniques without losing their cultural character. Reviews and current coverage particularly highlight the combination of food, storytelling, nostalgia, conversation, and regional culinary research.

Whether you're passionate about Bengali cuisine, interested in India's regional food traditions, or simply looking for an intimate and distinctive dining experience in Kolkata, The Chef's Table at Rannaghor by Sienna offers a chance to slow down, taste thoughtfully, and engage with Bengal through its food.

The Chef's Table at Rannaghor by Sienna offers a rare opportunity to experience Bengal through an intimate, chef-led tasting journey. With only 8 seats, the format allows diners to connect closely with the chefs, the food, and the stories behind each course.

Experience an Intimate Chef's Table

With just eight seats, Rannaghor creates a personal dining environment where the chefs can interact directly with guests and take them through the culinary journey.

Discover Bengal Beyond the Familiar

Explore the lesser-known food traditions and microregional cuisines of Bengal, going beyond the handful of dishes most commonly associated with Bengali food.

Enjoy a Story-Led Dining Experience

Every course is connected to stories of memory, community, land, farmers, markets, culture, and belonging, making the experience about more than just what's on the plate.

Explore Epar & Opar Bangl

Discover culinary influences from both West Bengal and Bangladesh, with the experience exploring the connected yet diverse food traditions of “epar” and “opar” Bangla.

Connect With the Chefs

The intimate format allows chefs Avinandan Kundu and Koyel Roy Nandy to engage with diners and share the thinking and inspiration behind the food.

Experience Food as Cultural Storytelling

Rannaghor uses food as a way to preserve lesser-heard culinary narratives and encourage conversations about Bengal's food culture and identity.

Perfect for Curious Food Lovers

If you enjoy regional Indian cuisine, tasting menus, culinary storytelling, and chef-led experiences, this intimate format offers something very different from a conventional restaurant meal.

Enjoy a Carefully Curated Experience

The small-scale setting gives the chefs greater control over the timing, presentation, and overall dining experience, allowing each course to become part of a cohesive journey.

Discover Bengal Through Its Ingredients

The experience celebrates the wider ecosystem behind Bengali cuisine, including local ingredients, growers, makers, farmers, and communities that influence what eventually reaches the plate.

Be Part of a Limited-Seat Experience

With only eight seats, this is an intentionally intimate experience rather than a large-scale dining event. That limited format makes every seat part of the chef's table itself.
